Spring Equinox 2002

The Balance-Time has Come.

Dark. Light. Old. New. Death. Birth.

The Balance Time has Come

A sliver of time outside of Time.

One ecstatic millisecond when Time stands Still in Perfect Balance.

Catch it, if you can.

So much of our lives are spent in a search for Balance.

We like to think the Wheel Year is balanced.

We like it when our checkbooks are balanced.

We like it when our emotional states are balanced.

We like it when the scales of power are balanced.

We like it when our priorities are balanced.

We spend a lot of time worshipping Balance.

But Nature Herself provides only two moments of Balance on the Wheel.

The rest is random!

Wildly lopsided!

Hopelessly crooked!

Magically off-kilter!

Praise and Glory to Reckless Nature!

Let us note this sliver of time outside of Time with reverence.

Let us give it the Power and Energy it deserves.

And then, let's careen wildly into Chaos

Dancing and falling down breathless into dew laden grasses

Coming up laughing until our sides hurt.

Let us weep rivers and go deep into the Darkness

Let us not shy away from the Power of Rage

or the ecstasy of Peace

Lets go full on into Grief and Sex and Longing

Let us hang on tight to the Pendulum as it swings to and fro

And revel in Nature's primordial Imbalance!

Let us leave behind our careful mincing balanced words

Let us loose the stoic stare that belies our wild instinctual natures

Let us clutch no more to neat and simple answers

Let us release our tightfisted grasp on a reality that's unreal

Let go of fear entirely as we walk the tight-wire,
balanced precariously Between the Worlds in search of Knowledge, Power, Love, Passion, Healing

or God

Let us fall into madness, into love, into passion

Let us hurdle into sweetness and knowledge and power

Let us run hand in hand with Nature toward the Sun

And let us fly in the night toward the Stars.
