Dancing with the Divine Twins

Brothers and lovers, the sons of the Star Goddess—the Divine Twins—are continually born in the milky orgasmic fulfillment of the Star Goddess’ desire to Know HerSelf. They are a mystery known as Dianyglas, Melektaus, Lucifer, Shaitan, the Bird of Heaven and the Serpent in the Earth. They are the marriage of paradox—fierce and compassionate, lustful and languid, fiery and cool—and they embody the queer nature of the Feri Tradition. They are everything we aspire to and all we fear. Both beautiful and terrible, they are the complex dance of will and surrender; the unending song of creation and destruction.

Are you ready to hear their music, to enter their dance, to meet their awful and beautiful gaze?

They ask you:
What light do you bear and what does your darkness hold?
What skills does the warrior employ to heal?
When does the teacher hold silence?
Who do you love and what do you fear?
What is the insatiable burning within you?
Where is the center of stillness?
What do you long for while running the other way?
What do you fear and how do you flirt with that?
Where is your will and what must be surrendered?
What will you take and what is your sacrifice?
When will you fight for and when do you walk away?
What is the name of your power?
Why do you give it away?

The gift of the Twins is knowledge of oneself in all our myriad and seemingly disparate parts. The mysteries They teach concern embracing paradox and thereby, experiencing the ecstasy of wholeness. To understand them, one must set aside divisive language. To know and be known by the Divine Twins is to embody ourselves in all our imperfect perfection—fully human, fully wild and fully divine, terribly complex, ridiculously simple.

There is deep magic to be had here as well as healing. Together, we will carefully create a container for this work by building altars, cleansing and charging the space, aligning our Triple Souls, making Kala for that which stands in the way of this Work. We will feed the Guardian of the group mind as well as make appropriate offerings for the Divine Twins.

Through discussion, poetry, movement, Pentacle work, art-play, guided meditation, music, trance-possession, writing and silence we will invoke, offer devotion to and embody the Divine Twins. Receiving their gifts, teachings and mystery deep and deep into our cellular structure we will find that when we are active we shake blessings from the heavens and when we are still we can see into all the worlds.

It is suggested that workshop participants have experience with some foundational Feri practices, specifically, Three-Soul Alignment and the Kala Rite. Other important skills include grounding, a sense of self-responsibility, respect for the group mind as well as for individual participants, and finally, a willingness to push beyond your established boundaries. Although this class is entitled "Dancing with the Divine Twins," it is not a dance class.
